La metteuse en scène, dramaturge et performeuse Tianyi Hong est accueillie par La Grange en résidence d’avril à juin 2025, avec le soutien de Pro Helvetia Shanghai. En conclusion de son temps de recherche en Suisse romande, elle propose une lecture théâtrale dirigée par le public, autour d’un texte sur la préservation des souvenirs liés au paysage, dans un contexte de crise écologique : Archive of a Landscape Recycling Station. Chaque spectateuricex se verra attribuer un personnage et un court texte – en anglais – par tirage au sort.
« Constant earthquakes have become a part of our daily lives, with collapses and disintegration forming a new reality. They are reshaping the landform that people’ve taken for granted, and erasing the associated memories.
Some people have thoroughly given up their city life. Having moved out of buildings that are no longer stable, they have adopted a semi-nomadic lifestyle involving hiking and camping, which they now consider a disposable new way of existence. Nevertheless, they do miss the old-day landscapes from time to time, along with memories, emotions and perceptions attached to them.
This is where the Landscape Recycling Station came from.
A long-term unemployed professional organiser once revisits the mountain where he used to hike with his former love, and discovers that the violent crustal movement has reset the former steep summit into a secluded clearing. Scattered across the clearing are the white stones that he used to rest on back in the day. Seeing this, he decides to stay and set up a recycling station where he can store departed landscapes as such, collecting all kinds of tumbled, obliterated and forgotten pieces of landscapes that people would love to restore. Soon, he starts to have visitor and collections… »
